    • Guéréwol : Bororos' festival : September - a seven-day festival of two lineages of Wodaabe, takes place at the end of the rainy season. The most handsome men are chosen by the three most beautiful women. Dances include the guéréwol, from which the festival takes its name, the ruume, a circle dance with songs and clapping, and the yaake, where dancers try to outdo each other with facial expression. A dancer knows that he has succeeded when an old woman knocks her head against his chest.
